Why is voting so important? Why does it matter who we vote for? The future of the country depends on us. We have a say on who we feel is the most beneficial presidential candidate for us. We write history. By determining the status of the economic and environmental crisis we have, we need someone who believes that these are major issues that need to be improved. We the people, need someone who is willing to listen to us, someone who is willing to bring peace among the democratic and republican parties of our country. Although it seems that the country is having a major downfall, it is up to us to pick it back up. Covid-19, Global Warming, Police brutality, Social injustice, Transphobia, and ICE are some of the major problems that we experience today as a whole, but that is just a little to add to the pile of other injustices we are served by the mess that we call a democracy. We need a president that will not hide the dangers of a pandemic, implement racial literacy into schools, not defend cops that wrongfully murder, and harass innocent people, or discredit health officials and scientist. We need a president that won’t disrespect dead soldiers, or make fun of those who are disabled, or treat women as if they are objects. We need a president that is willing to talk to all people, understand the well being of all people, and most importantly, the future. We need a President who won’t disrespect his opponent and moderator during what’s supposed to be a civil debate. By voting we can change the course of history and make it better. We have a chance to have silenced voices heard and act upon them in positive life changing ways. We have a chance to import the unknown civil rights leaders and activists into our textbooks that should be known and not lost in history. Please understand the importance of voting, the life of our democracy depends on the voice of all people.
