President Joe Biden strongly believes that every American has the right to affordable and quality healthcare. He will protect the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, from continued attacks and will also stop the reversal of the progress that occurred under Trump’s administration. Biden plans to build onto the Affordable Care Act by giving Americans more choices, reducing health care costs, and making the health care system less complex to navigate and understand. He plans to implement that for more than 97% of Americans which will give them huge benefits. 

Here are some specific examples of his healthcare plan in addition to preserving Obamacare. Biden will increase the value of tax credits to lower premiums and extend coverage to the working class. He also plans to expand coverage to low-income Americans. Middle class families will get a premium tax credit to help them pay for coverage. He will limit launch prices for drugs that face no competition and are being abusively priced by manufacturers. He will expand access to contraception and protect the constitutional right to an abortion. He will restore federal funding for planned parenthood. He will defend healthcare protections for all regardless of gender, gender identity, or sexial orientation. Biden will achieve mental health parity and expand access to mental health care. He will reduce the unacceptably high maternal mortality rate, which especially impacts people of color. And many more actions that will all work to protect and restore the right to healthcare for all American people.
