This month, we are focusing on the Upcoming national elections, specifically for president. Although voting is at the heart of the American Democracy, voting rights have a very complicated past. From women’s suffrage, to African American and Native American voting rights, it is very important to understand the fights which have given so many of us this important civic duty. In an ever unequal country, it is important that all Americans, regardless of situation or political affiliation get out to vote this year. The 2020 elections are certainly slated to be historic and will have lasting consequences on all of our lives. This month’s issue is devoted to understanding this right and educating yourself on what is going on with voting. There is no doubt that the nation is in a period of great change, so it is up to us to vote and ensure these changes accurately represent our shared values.
