About Us

Who We Are

Hey!

Our names are Laasya Gadiyaram, Serena Lathi, and Faria Majeed. We’re a group of politically active students who want to spread this energy to those around us. After seeing the motivation of our generation, we created this to help get other students involved with current events. This platform was made to expand beyond just awareness by creating ideas useful to our community. Each month, we focus on one important issue. Then we break it down into three steps: Awareness, Opinions, and Actions. Being educated on the issues surrounding us, although beneficial, is not enough anymore. Movements focus on creating and promoting change, and this can’t be done when complacency pervades our generation.

What We Do

The purpose of this platform is to step beyond awareness. In an age of political apathy, awareness is critical to the growth of a movement. However, when we are lulled into a false sense of security where we think simply spreading the word is enough, we lose sight of our actual goal. If we want to create real and structural change, we need to do more than speak out minds: we need to take real action.

In so many cases we find passionate people who simply don’t know what to do. They know that they want to help make change, but they don’t know how. They post on their social media to try to help, but don’t understand what other action steps they can take. If our generation adopts that perspective, that posting and word-of-mouth is what is actually going to create change, we are sadly mistaken. As the future, the policy of today should be of the utmost importance to us. We are the ones who have to live with these problems for the longest, so it is our responsibility to create legislation and activism that adequately reflects our needs. From the climate crisis, to education reform it is undoubtable that we have been dealt an unfair hand; but for our sake, we need to do the most with it.

Each month, we dedicate our publication to one issue. Then, we break it down into three steps:

Awareness, Opinions, and Action
